the arrangement of the Tabernaclel

Exodus 30: 17-21
Exodus 38: 8

The Brazen Laver and its foot were made from the mirrors that were offered by the women. These looking glasses were actually plates of brass that had been polished in such a way that their shiny surface could be used as mirrors.

The Brazen Laver was placed between the Tabernacle of the congregation and the Altar of Burnt Offerings.

FUNCTION:
The priests had to wash their hands and feet with water from the laver before they served in the Tabernacle of the congregation and at the Altar of Burnt Offerings so that they would not die. This was a lasting ordinance from God.

THE SPIRITUAL MEANING
The Brazen Laver speaks of:

  1. WATER BAPTISM symbolizing death and resurrection. We died to sin and our old self to be raised to live a new life.
  2. RENEWING
  3. SANCTIFICATION by the washing of water by the Word (Ephesians 5:26) See NKJV

Without restoration and sanctification, we cannot worship and serve (consecrate ourselves to) the Lord; instead we will suffer spiritual death.
Being renewed means experiencing His resurrection.
