Bible Study Service in Malang, February 20, 2014 (Thursday Evening)
Peace
and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation
1:9-20 is the vision of John in Patmos Island. Revelation
1:9 1:9
I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and
kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is
called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus
Christ.
John
experiences the suffering in the flesh not because of evil, but the
Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. As a result, he is
encouraged to enter the true fellowship. If our life, service, and
ministry are signified by the suffering without any sin, we will be
encouraged to enter the
true fellowship with God and others. The
fellowship with others is in the body of Christ. It begins from
inside our marriage, shepherding, inter-shepherding, up to the unity
of the perfect body of Christ. On the contrary, a suffering in
flesh because of sin will scatter the true fellowship and enter the
false one, namely the body of Babel. The fellowship with God is
the fellowship of body with The Head, starting from the marriage
supper of the Lamb of God and forever.
There
are three important things in the true fellowship as follows.
-
In tribulation or
death way.
- In
kingdom or resurrection way.
- In
patience of Jesus Christ or the way of glory.
We
are learning the second one, namely the
companion in kingdom or fellowship of priests and kings
who have full right to enter heavenly kingdom. A priest is a holy
person who bears the ministry from God, serves and ministers to Him
according to the ministry He has given.
Psalm
20:6, 9 20:6
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer him from
His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand. 20:9
Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call.
A
king is one who is anointed by Holy Spirit, so he is always
victorious.
Why
is there the term of priests and kings?
-
Because God wants
the priests anointed by Holy Spirit works with His power.
- Because
He wants the priests to always defeat hindrance, sin, up to death,
so that we can minister to Him until the end, namely we pass away or
He comes a second time, or forever.
Revelation
22:3-5 22:3
And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the
Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 22:4 They
shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 22:5
There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the
sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever
and ever.
If
we minister to God with the anointing of Holy Spirit and victory
always, He will answer our prayer. He will solve all problems, even
the impossible one.
Mark
1:6 1:6
Now John was clothed with camel's hair and with a leather belt
around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey.
The
appearance of a priest or servant of God is as follows.
-
Wearing clothes of
camel's hair, referring to the anointing of Holy Spirit.
- With
a leather belt around the waist, namely righteousness and
faithfulness.
- The
food is locusts and wild honey.
Now,
we are learning the third one, namely the
food is locusts and wild honey. The
locusts are bitter, but the wild honey is sweet.
Revelation
10:8-10 10:8
Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said,
"Go, take the
little book which is open in the hand of the angel
who stands on the sea and on the earth." 10:9 So I went to
the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And
he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach
bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth." 10:10
Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it,
and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my
stomach became bitter.
The
bitter locusts and the sweet wild honey refer to the little book
which is open in the hand of the angel or pastor. The
locusts and wild honey mean the revelation of the Word of God through
a verse that explains other verses in Bible or the true Teaching Word
God trusts to a pastor or the Shepherding Word as the rod of a
shepherd. Thus,
the food of a priest is the Shepherding Word or the true Teaching
Word God trusts to a pastor to preach faithfully and repetitively to
the congregation as the food of them and the priests. A
priest must be shepherded and able to eat the Shepherding Word or
obey the true Teaching Word. As a result, we can grow toward
spiritual maturity and get a new strength, so we can be faithful and
fervent in spirit ministering to God. We also win others to become
priests also.
1
Peter 3:1 3:1
Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if
some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may
be won
by the conduct of their wives,
The
meanings of the bitterness and sweetness are as follows.
-
Showing the
acceptance to the True Teaching Word.
Proverbs
27:7 27:7
A satisfied soul loathes the honeycomb, But to a
hungry soul
every bitter thing is sweet.
If
we can eat the Shepherding Word with a hunger or need, it will be
sweet to our soul and spirit although it is sharp, hard, and bitter
to our flesh. As a result, we will never be bored, criticize, or
reject it, but accept it. Consuming
the Shepherding Word with the hunger means that we hear and obey it,
and then it will be ingrained in our life.
Afterwards, we can be the house of prayer and our prayer will be
answered by God.
John
15:7 15:7
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask
what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
Proverbs
28:9 28:9
One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is
an abomination.
If
we do not hear and obey the Shepherding Word, we will become the den
of thieves and the prayer will be an abomination. Thus, all
spiritual activities, service, ministry, and worship are an
abomination before God if they are not based on the True Teaching
Word.
- The
work of the Shepherding Word to sanctify us.
There
are two kinds of sanctification as follows.
- Sanctification
to bitter stomach of heart.
Revelation
10:9 10:9
So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little
book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it
will make your stomach bitter,
but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth."
Proverbs
4:23 4:23
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues
of life.
If
the heart is bitter, the life, marriage, service, and ministry will
also be bitter.
Mark
7:21-22 7:21
"For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil
thoughts, (1)adulteries, (2)fornications, (3)murders, 7:22
"(4)thefts, (5) covetousness, (6)wickedness,(7) deceit,(8)
lewdness,(9) an evil eye,(10) blasphemy, (11)pride,(12)
foolishness.
The
cause of the bitter heart is the twelve evil unclean things in
heart. If our heart and mind are sanctified continually by the
Shepherding Word, there will be the table of life filled with
twelve loaves arranged in two rows, six in a row. Therefore, the
figure sixty six refers to the sixty six books in bible or the true
teaching Word.
Leviticus
24:5-6 24:5
" And you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it.
Two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake. 24:6 "You
shall set them in two
rows, six in a row,
on the pure gold table before the LORD.
As
a result, we will experience heavenly satisfaction, sweetness, and
joy, so that we will never look for pseudo satisfaction in the
world causing us to do sin up to the peak even die in spirituality
and perish.
Mark
5:42-43 5:42
Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of
age. And they were overcome with great amazement. 5:43 But He
commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that
something
should be given her to eat.
The
twelve years old girl could eat the Shepherding Word, so that she
could be alive and sweet.
Job
10:1-2, 32:1-2 10:1
"My soul loathes my life; I will give free course to my
complaint, I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. 10:2 I
will say to God, 'Do not condemn me; Show me why You contend with
me. 32:1
So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous
in his own eyes. 32:2 Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of
Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job;
his wrath was aroused because he
justified himself rather than God.
The
cause of the bitter heart is self truth, namely covering sins by
blaming other people and God. It means the truth that is not in
line to the Word. The Shepherding Word sanctifies us from the
self truth, so we can receive the truth of God. We can realize,
regret, and confess our sins to God and others when the Teaching
Word shows us our sins. After being forgiven, we must not sin
again, so that we get the joy.
Psalm
32:1 32:1
<<A
Psalm of David. A Contemplation.>>
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is
covered.
If
the Shepherding Word is rejected, the chastening and great test
will come. Nevertheless, it is still the stretching of God's
hands.
Job
42:5-6 42:5"I
have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees
You. 42:6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and
ashes."
As
a result, God will heal our life to become sweet.
- Sanctification
to our mouth.
Revelation
10:10 10:10
Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it,
and it
was as sweet as honey in my mouth.
But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.
The
Shepherding Word sanctifies our mouth to produce sweet saying,
namely honest words, testimony to become blessings to others, and
worship to God to cry His name.
Song
of Solomon 7:9 7:9
And the roof of your mouth like the best wine. THE SHULAMITE The
wine goes down smoothly for my beloved, Moving gently the lips of
sleepers.
The
words of the bride are sweet as the best wine to flow to others
with testimony and to Jesus who is sleeping.
Matthew
8:23-26 8:23
Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. 8:24
And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was
covered with the waves. But He was asleep. 8:25 Then His
disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us!
We are perishing!" 8:26 But He said to them, "Why
are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose and
rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
The
wind and wave refer to sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning
eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage; the wind of
false teachings; and temptations in all aspects of life blown by
Satan with the power of death. All of them make one hopeless, even
he departs from the faith and perishes forever.
Why does
Jesus sleep when the wave and wind is raging? Because our heart and
mouth are still bitter. If
we are sanctified to get sweet heart and mouth only crying the name
of the Lord, He will make the wind and wave calm.
He solves all problems in His time and all things become easy and
light. Jonah had sunk in the bottom of the sea, but God helped
him when he cried to Him.
Matthew
14:30-31 14:30
But when he saw
that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink
he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" 14:31 And
immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said
to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
Peter
doubted and began to sink in the midst of wind and wave, but he
stretched his hand and cried the name of the Lord. As a result, He
stretched His hand to lift him up from his sinking. God is able to
heal, so that the failure can be changed into success and beautiful
joyful future life. We are used in the revival of Holy Spirit at
the latter rain for building the perfect body of Christ.
Psalm
107:28-30 107:28
Then they cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them
out of their distresses. 107:29 He calms the storm, So that
its waves are still. 107:30 Then they are glad because they
are quiet; So He guides them to their desired
haven.
We
are led to the last sheepfold, sanctified, and renewed to be
perfect when Jesus comes a second time. Our mouth only says
alleluia to welcome His second coming.
God
blesses you.
