Jesus' Ascencion Service in Malang, May 13, 2010 (Thursday Evening)

Jesus' ascencion is related to these three things:
  1. His accompanying
    Mark 16:19-20
16:19 So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere,
the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.

    The requirements are below:
    • Peace, meaning war or enmity is over, so are sins.
      The process is below:
      • Confessing sins to God and men uprightly, not repeating them after being forgiven. There will be no peace when the sins are not confessed.
      • Forgiving the sins of other people who has confessed to us generously and forget them.

    • Preaching Gospel/good news to those who have not known about Jesus and preaching about teaching Word/Bride Tidings/the Word sharper than any two-edged sword to those who have been saved to get entry into the building of perfect body of Christ.

    Matthew 28:19-20
28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
28:20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

This is same with ministry in building the perfect body of Christ.
The Head will accompany the body wherever it goes, we do not need to fear.

    1 Peter 2:5
2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Those who are employed in building Christ's body are priests and kings, i.e. those having priest's offices and the gifts of Holy Spirit. Besides, they must be faithful and obedient in committing service and ministry. God does not need the intelligence but obedience and faithfulness. The obedience is said in holy bible as a wise, meaning knowing the limit.

Being peaceful and serving God with obedience and faithfulness, God will accompany up to the end of days.

    Romans 8:31
8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

If God is with us, we will prevail against all enemies, i.e. sins, the influence of the world, all hindrances and problems, because all of them are finished by God.

  2. To bless us.
    Luke 24:50-53
24:50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them.
24:51 Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven.
24:52 And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
24:53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen.

The world is full of curse. The Lord ascended to heaven to give us blessings as follows:
    • Physical blessings, to preserve us in the midst of curse in the world.
    • Spiritual blessings, to give us joy in the midst of curse until we reach the eternal joy.

The term 'He blessed them' [Luke 24:51] means we get unstopped blessings.

Jesus was received up to heaven while He was blessing, meaning the blessings of God do not depend on anything in the world, none nor nothing may limit.

Being blessed, do not misuse it, do not be sunk nor decreased in blessings.
We have to remember the Giver of the blessings by returning tithes and special offering.
We also have to remember the other members of the body of God who need.

[Luke 24:52-53] We know that a blessing comes from God if it leads us to commit service and ministry to the Lord more faithful up to the peak, that is to say worshiping God.
Being farther away from God, Satan is giving temptation to hinder us from being faithful in committing service and ministry until we go into curse and perdition.

  3. To come again a second time.
    Acts 1:9-11
1:9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
1:10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
1:11 who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

Do not be satisfied only with God's blessings and accompanying but let them be directed toward Jesus' second coming. Being left at the time of Jesus' second coming, all of God's blessings and accompanying will be vain.

    John 14:1-2
14:1 "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
14:2 "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.

Jesus ascended to heaven in order to prepare a place for us.
Physical house in the world is temporary, do not make it a burden because God has prepared a place for us in heaven.

    Romans 8:1-3
8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
8:3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh,

The Church of God must be ready to welcome Jesus' second coming, being lifted up together with Him to dwell in the place God has prepared for us.
Unfortunately, the Church of God is sleeping spiritually.

Matthew 25:5-7
25:5 "But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
25:6 "And at
midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!'
25:7 "Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.

Therefore, the Church of God must receive Bride Tidings [Matthew 25:6]. Bride Tidings is the only one tidings able to make the Church awake. The Bride Tidings is the possession of all churches because it is written in holy bible and only needed to be revealed.

Acts 20:7
20:7. Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.

The preaching of the Word must increase to the preaching until midnight. [Matthew 25:6, Acts 20:7], that is to say the preaching of Bride Tidings preaching about Jesus' second coming in glory as Heavenly Bridegroom.

Be careful! There is a Church which has been brought up by Bride Tidings but being in spiritual sleeping. Consequently, the Church will fall and die.

Acts 20:8-9
20:8 There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.
20:9 And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.

Why can one be sleepy and sleep?
It can happen because of sitting in a window, meaning being arrogant because the Lord ordered to sit on the pasture. Sitting in a window, one will hear other sound outside the shepherding until being doubtful.
Eutychus was not firm in shepherding so he became sleepy, meaning being bored of hearing the Word. In such condition, one becomes weary and in heavy burden.

Being sleepy, one will be overcome by sleep. In such a manner, he can do his activity and ministry but not seriously. He can be non-active also in his sleeping.

Consequently, he fell down from the third story = falling into sin and being unable to be perfect until being spiritually dead and losing the salvation.
Falling down means all things decrease, include spirituality, holiness, and all physical matters.

The right one is we have to be firm in shepherding = sitting on the pasture.
Tonight, we commemorate Jesus' ascension. We have to be firm in shepherding and we can be lifted up to heaven.
The humble will be able to consume shepherding Word without any bore.
Besides, we have to obey the shepherding Word.
Being humble and obedient = lifting up our hands to the Lord.

Jesus, Great Shepherd, has given us His soul so He can stretch His hand, in which there was the hole of nail, to us.

We will get these results if we lift up our hands to the Lord and He stretches His hand to us:
  1. There are five loaves of bread and two fish for five thousand people = miraculous preservation from God.
  2. The hand of Great Shepherd leads us now up to New Jerusalem.
    Revelation 7:17
7:17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

  3. The hand of Great Shepherd resurrects what has been dead, enables all impossible things.
    Acts 20:10
20:10 But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, "Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him."

What has been dead spiritually will be changed to become as glorious as Jesus is.

  4. The hand of Great Shepherd will lift up all decreased matters until we are lifted up on the glorious clouds.
    1 Peter 5:6
5:6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.
God blesses you.
