Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 4: 42-44
4:42. Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them;
4:43. but He said to them, "I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent."
4:44. And He was preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.

It is about 'Jesus teaches in other cities'.

Jesus goes into 'a deserted place'.
It meanspeace/serenity in the worship or to worship that we experience peaceful.
The quietness is associated with ministry, namely telling the Word of God.
In the Old Testament, we work first, then experience a rest (we work for six days and the seventh day is Sabbath).
But, in the New Testament, we experience calmness first, so we can serve/tell the Word of God.
The result isour ministry become easy and light.

Isaiah 30: 15
30:15. For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and restyou shall be saved; In quietness and confidenceshall be your strength." But you would not,

= position of resting and quietness.
'rest'= being silent, we check ourselves through the sharpness of the Word of God. If the sins are shown, we have to confess to God and others. If we are forgiven, do not sin anymore, but repent.

'quiet'= we control ourselves that we do not hope others, but we keep on believing and hoping in God, so we can pray and worship Him.
Flesh often hopes others.

Through being silent and calm, we experience two things as follows:

  1. Having stable faith, that we endure to face all problems.
    Luke 4 is about faith.
The stable faithis we do not become disappointed or desperate and leave God facing against anything.

    Daniel 6: 8-9, 11, 20-23
6:8. "All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.
6:9. "Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not alter."
6:11. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem,
he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
6:20. Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of lions.
6:21. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?"
6:22. Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever!
6:23. "My God sent His angel and
shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you."

Daniel keeps praying even in threats.
Finally, Daniel is put in lion's den, but the Hand of God is able to shut the lions' mouth and God lifts Daniel up (there is success and wonderful future).

  2. Experiencing the tearing of flesh with its attitudes, that is as follows:

    • Lukas 4: 42
      4:42. Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Himfrom leaving them;

'tried to keep Him'= egoism that must be squeezed because we feel that we have been already blessed.
'egoism'= not to remember others in need even harm others.

    • to have self-truth= covering sin by blaming others and God.
    • keeping self-will, so we are not obedient.

If the flesh is squeezed, the oil of Holy Spirit will be poured to all of us.
Without Holy Spirit, we cannot serve God.

    The results are as follows:

    • Acts 1: 8
1:8. "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Mein Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

The power of Holy Spirit makes us testify, both good news and bride tidings.

    • The Holy Spirit gives rest/serenityto make everything easy and light.
If everything is easy and light, we can stand until the end even be lifted up.

If we serve by the power of flesh, it will be more severe day by day.

    • Romans 8: 15
8:15. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

The Holy Spirit makes us cry out 'Abba, Father' (obedient).

Being obedient= stretching out our hand to God and He will stretch His hand to us, so we are in the hug of God.

This is our condition if we are in the 'deserted place', that is we are in the embrace of God and we will receive the results as follows:

      1. Isaiah 46: 3-4
46:3. "Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, Who have been upheld by Mefrom birth, Who have been carried from the womb:
46:4. Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs
I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

'I will carry you'= God is responsible for our life.
It means our life and death are in the Hand of God.

      2. 'I will carry'= God carries all of our burden and finishes all of our problems.
      3. 'I uphold you'= God lifts up what that has already dropped.
God lifts us up from sin and our failure becomes success.

      4. 'I will deliver you '= God's mercy is able to save us from antichrist. We are purified up to perfected too.

God blesses us.
