Prayer Service in Malang, June 12, 2012 (Tuesday Evening)

Matthew 27 as a whole refers to theseven sprinklings of blood on the Ark of Covenant.
Meaning the suffering of Jesus until He dies on the cross to save, sanctify, and perfect the congregation.

There are seven passages written in Matthew 27 that refer to the seven kinds of Jesus’ suffering until He dies on the cross as follows.
  1. Matthew 27:1-10, Jesus Handed Over to Pontius Pilate and Judas Hangs Himself.
  2. Matthew 27:11-26, Jesus Faces Pilate.
  3. Matthew 27:27-31, The Soldiers Mock Jesus.
  4. Matthew 27:32-50, Jesus’ Crucifixion.
  5. Matthew 27:51-56, Miracles Happen at the Time of Jesus’ Death.
  6. Matthew 27:57-61, Jesus Buried in Joseph’s Tomb.
  7. Matthew 27:62-66, Pilate Sets a Guard.
ad. 2. Jesus Faces Pilate.
Matthew 27:11
27:11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, "Are You the King of the Jews?" So Jesus said to him, "It is as you say."

Pilate asks Jesus "Are You the King of the Jews?"
Jesus faces question that corners Him with high risk because the Jews hates Him. The high risk is His death on the cross.

The question is about the King. King is one who is anointed, firm, and victorious.

Jesus’ attitude is answering firmly that He is the King of the Jews although He must die on the cross.

Revelation 19:6,16
19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
19:16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

As a result, there is Holy Spirit’s power to raise and glorify Him as the King of all kings.

We can take a lesson that we should not doubt or hesitate about righteousness, or else there will be no anointing of Holy Spirit in us.
It is especially in facing false service and teaching nowadays. We will never doubt the righteousness if we are in the anointing of Holy Spirit.

Daniel 6:5
6:5 Then these men said, "We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God."

Daniel keeps enduring when he faces false service and teaching although he has to enter the den of lion.

1 Corinthians 15:25-26
15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Why does Jesus keep confessing Himself as the King of the Jews and all kings
?
  1. To defeat all enemies up to the last enemy, namely death or perdition.
  2. To make us free from the threat of death or perdition.
There are three kinds of death as follows.
  1. Bodily death.
  2. Spiritual death.
    Ephesians 2:1
2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

The sign of the spiritual death is as follows.
    • Being bored of spiritual matters such as serving God, reading Bible, and praying.
    • Keeping and pleading sins.

  3. The second death.
    Revelation 20:14
20:14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
1 Samuel 20:3
20:3 Then David took an oath again, and said, "Your father certainly knows that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said, ‘Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.’ But truly, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."

There is a step or a heartbeat between us and the death means as follows.
The only safe place the death cannot reach is at the feet of Jesus, the King of all kings.
The facts found in being at Jesus’ feet are as follows.
  1. Hearing, obeying, and being shepherded to the true teaching Word.
    Luke 10:39
10:39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.

We must be shepherded as a branch that attains to the True Vine, so God becomes our defender and the death cannot reach us.

On the contrary, one will go to the tomb for sure if he goes out of Nain, referring to the shepherding.

    Luke 7:11-13
7:11 Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.
7:12 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
7:13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."

Fortunately, the mother cries. The mother spiritually denotes a pastor who always struggles for us. As a result, the young man can be helped.

The true shepherding Word leads us to the living fountain of water in New Jerusalem. The dead things can be made alive. God is leading and arranging our life in the shepherding.

    Revelation 7:17
7:17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

  2. Falling down at Jesus’ feet or worshipping Him.
    John 11:31-34
11:31 Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and comforting her, when they saw that Mary rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, "She is going to the tomb to weep there."
11:32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died."
11:33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled.
11:34 And He said, "Where have you laid him?" They said to Him, "Lord, come and see."

Mary faces Lazarus who have been dead for four days, meaning the Church of God faces spiritual rottenness such as fall in sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage, and rottenness in marriage, children, economy, study, illness, up to the impossible matters.

Mary does not lament as other people in the world. Lamenting means being hopeless and disappointed until one pours his heart before other people or blames them and seeks his own solution which is outside the Word of God. Lamenting at the tomb means being in rottenness and perdition.

Mary falls down at Jesus’ feet, meaning worshiping Jesus letting her tears run down. Falling down means confessing our failure, powerlessness, sins, and faults with our fully believing or faith in God.
When our tears run down, God pours His grace and stretches His hand for us.

Faith added with grace will result in miracle as follows.
    • Lazarus is resurrected, meaning something that has been unclean, rotten, and destroyed can be healed.
    • Lazarus is employed to become God’s witness.
    • We can be renewed to become as glorious as Jesus is when He comes a second time and the death cannot reach us forever.
God blesses you.
