Matthew 26:16
26:16. So from that time he sought opportunity to betray Him.

Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Judas Iscariot sought opportunity to betray Jesus.

There are 2 things that lead to betrayal, namely:
  1. Unfaithfulness.
    Malachi 2:15-16
2:15. But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth.
2:16. "For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one's garment with violence," Says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously."

Unfaithfulness equals to seeking opportunity to deal treacherously.

    Being unfaithful in marriage.
Starting from the beginning of marriage/courtship. Dating should not for the lust of eyes, pride, trend, etc. The purpose of dating is getting married. The journey of marriage must also be kept. There must be no quarrels, violence, infidelity and divorce.

    Being unfaithful in ministry.
    Matthew 25:26, 30
25:26. "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.
25:30. 'And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

The consequence of being unfaithfulis being useless, which means to live in darkness of sin, unhappiness, suffering up to outer darkness/perishing in hell.

  2. Disobedience.
    Psalms 44:1
    7
44:17. All this has come upon us; But we have not forgotten You, Nor have we dealt falsely with Your covenant.

Being disobedient to true teaching Word equals to seeking opportunity to betray.

The consequences of being disobedient areas follows:
    • Fallinginto sin until the peak of sin, that is eating, drinking sins, and marrying and being given in marriage.
Do not agree with others committing sin. This tends to happen in marriage since the beginning of time (Adam and Eve). It happened also to Ananias and Sapphira in the medieval. Moreover to a shepherd. If the congregation commit sin but the shepherd does not blow trumpet/advise, he's already been guilty of blood. Moreover, if a shepherd agrees congregation committing sin, it is double guilty of blood.

    • John 21:3, 7
21:3. Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
21:7. Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

Total failure and nakedness= being humiliated. Judas did not obey and he burst open in the middle.
'he burst open in the middle, means his life was not beautiful.
The right attitudes that we do not deal treacherously areas follows:
  1. Being faithful in marriage and ministry, whatever must be sacrificed.
    II Samuel 22:26
    22:26. "With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless;

If we are being faithful, God will be faithful to us. God never lies! If God is being faithful, our ship of life will not sink. Our ship of life will sink or not depends on Jesus' presence or absence in our ship of life.

  2. Being obedient to true teaching Word with all the risks.
    John 14:15
14:15. "If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Being obedient equals to loving Jesus more than anything. Sacrifice, worship and faithfulness without obedience/love are just obligation.
Drawing near God's coming, the powerful storms we will face will increase.
If we are faithful and obedient, God will pour His lovingkindness to us. The usefulness of God's lovingkindness areas follows:
  1. Isaiah 54:10
54:10. For the mountains shall depart And the hills be removed, But My kindness shall not depart from you, Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed," Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.

To deal with shocks in all field.
It means the lovingkindness of God is able to protect and take care us in the middle of world's storm and antichrist until we get eternal life.

  2. Psalms 51:1
51:1. << To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of Davidwhen Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. >>Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions.

For facing falls in sins, until the peak of sin. It means, the hand of God's lovingkindness is able to forgive our sin that have been confessed and help us to release from sin. For example was King David. If being forgiven, do not sin anymore, that we exist in God's lovingkindness. The lovingkindness of God is able to finish sin which is the heaviest burden. If sin can be finished, the lovingkindness of God is also able to finish all our problems. God does not lie to us!

  3. Genesis 39:21, 23
39:21. But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
39:23. The keeper of the prison did not look into anything that was under Joseph's authority, because the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper.

For facing suffering in the limitation and downturn. It means the lovingkindness of God lifts us from limitation and downturn/makes us successful.

  4. Exodus 15:13
15:13. You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength To Your holy habitation.

God's mercy leads us to beautiful future life until New Jerusalem, where there is no drop of tears.
God blesses us.
