Matthew 26:26-29
26:26. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, \"Take, eat; this is My body.\"
26:27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, \"Drink from it, all of you.
26:28 \"For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
26:29 \"But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father\'s kingdom.\"

Eating Holy Communion equals to eating the body of Christ and drinking His blood.
If we consume Holy Communion in righteous manner, it will give us blessings. On the contrary, consuming Holy Communion in false manners will cause curse to come.

1 Corinthians 11:27-31
11:27 Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
11:29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord\'s body.
11:30 For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.
11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.

There are three possibilities in consuming Holy Communion as follows:
  1. [verse 27] In an unworthy manner, that is to say consuming Holy Communion with keeping sins. Meaning there is no regret after doing sins.
Consequently, judgment comes and the one becomes weaker until s/he dies physically or spiritually.
  2. Rejecting the Holy Communion with many reasons.
It equals to rejecting the sacrifice of Christ. As the consequence, there is everlasting perdition.
  3. [verse 28] Consuming Holy Communion with examining ourselves, judging ourselves, or punishing our sins.
Consuming Holy Communion with righteous manner will result in blessings up to eternal life.
What is the function of the body and blood of Christ?
John 6:51
6:51 \"I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.\"

The bread is the body or flesh of Jesus, and it is also the true teaching Word. Therefore, Holy Communion must be encouraged first by the true teaching Word.

The function of the bread or the body of Christ we eat in righteous manner is as follows:
  1. To give us physical daily life up to the future one.
    John 6:33
6:33 \"For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.\"

  2. We will never be hungry anymore, meaning we have the satisfaction of the Lord.
    John 6:35
6:35 And Jesus said to them, \"I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

The proof of having the satisfaction is we do not seek other satisfaction in the world.

  3. We have fellowship with Jesus as a branch sticking to the true Vine.
    John 6:56
6:56 \"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.

    John 15:4
15:4 \"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

If we eat Holy Communion in righteous manner, we will become as a stick attaining to the Vine or we will have the fellowship with Jesus as our Head.

    1 Corinthians 10:17
10:17 For we, though many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.

Afterward, it will not be difficult to have fellowship with other people and we can be united in one perfect body of Christ.

    John 15:5-6
15:5 \"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
15:6 \"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.

Consuming Holy Communion in false manner equals to being outside the Vine. Consequently, one becomes dry and enters the perdition.
The wine refers to the blood of Jesus.
Matthew 26:28
26:28 \"For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The function of Jesus\' blood is for the forgiveness of our sin.

1 John 1:9
1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The process of the forgiveness of sin done by Jesus\' blood is we realize and regret our sin, and we confess the sin in earnest to God and other people, and we do not repeat it after being forgiven. As a result, Jesus\' blood actively covers the sin and sanctifies our life.

Matthew 26:25
26:25 Then Judas, who was betraying Him, answered and said, \"Rabbi, is it I?\" He said to him, \"You have said it.\"

For what is our life sanctified?
  1. For making us strong and of good courage in facing many sufferings, especially suffering without any sin.
    Luke 22:15
    22:15 Then He said to them, \"With fervent desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

    2 Timothy 3:12
3:12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

    Revelation 2:10
2:10 \"Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

If we are willing to be sanctified, we will be able to face the suffering without any sin until the end. There are two kinds of the end line of human\'s life, namely bodily death and living until Jesus comes a second time.

As a result, we get the crown of life.

Elijah has been afraid of suffering but he could walk to go to Mount Horeb because of eating twice. Now, we will be able to go to New Jerusalem because of consuming the Word and Holy Communion.

  2. For making us priests and kings, namely ones who serve and minister God.
    Hebrews 1:3
1:3who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

    Hebrews 8:1
8:1. Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

    John 6:54
6:54 \"Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

The priest\'s office God has given in our life cannot be hindered by anything even the death.

    Revelation 7:13-15
7:13. Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, \"Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?\"
7:14 And I said to him, \"Sir, you know.\" So he said to me, \"These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
7:15 \"Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

Hebrews 2:17-18
2:17Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

The result of ministering God in holiness is as follows:
  1. We meet High Priest who performs the reconciliation ministry.
  2. We meet High Priest who is able to help us in His time, in the time of need, not too late or too soon.
    Hebrews 4:15-16
4:15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

  3. High Priest will perfect our life.
    Hebrews 10:14
10:14 For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

God blesses you.
