Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 7:11-17
7:11. Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd.
7:12. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her.
7:13. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."
7:14. Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise."
7:15. So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.
7:16. Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, "A great prophet has risen up among us"; and, "God has visited His people."
7:17. And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.

There are two big groups as follows
:
  1. Jesus with His disciples and a large crowd.
The direction of movement of Jesus is out of town to a city called Nain.

    Nainmeans pleasant place.
In spiritual meaning, this group refers to the ministry that is led by Jesus as the High Priest (Head). It means that it is led by true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.
In the service which prioritizes the sword, we experience purification from sin up to the peak of sin.

This kind of service aims in Nain, namely the pleasant place.
So, even though our flesh is torn by the Word in the service, the purpose is that we go to the pleasant place, even to the most pleasant place, namely the Kingdom of Heaven.

  2. A widow with her dead son and a large crowd.

The direction of movement of the widow is from Nain to the grave.

A widow means one who has no relationship with husband (head), namely one does not have relationship with Jesus as the Head.
In the spiritual meaning, this group refers to the service without Jesus as the Head, namely without true teaching Word and purification.

This kind of service just touts worldly things, namely wealth and entertainment in the world, so he does not experience purification but retains the sin.
The consequence is priority to worldly activities more than spiritual ones, one does not like to hear the Word and worship God until there is spiritual death (they arrived at the grave).
His life is in the sorrow atmosphere, there is no satisfaction and happiness, so the youths make efforts to look for satisfaction in the grave, such as discotheque, movie theater, and sin of eating-drinking and marrying-giving in marriage.

If the youths exist at the grave, they will make their parents cry.
The group of the widow meets Jesus' group at the gate of Nain and the visitation of God happens(verse 12). For us now, it means they meet at the gate of the Heaven. It means as follows:
  1. The gate of faith.
As for us, if we want to receive the visiting of God, we must have faith, we believe Jesus by hearing true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword.

  2. The gate of mercy.
    Luke 7:13-14

7:13. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on herand said to her, "Do not weep."
7:14. Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise."

As for God, He has compassion and stretches out His hand to us.
If we believe Jesus (receiving true teaching Word that is sharper than any two-edged sword), we will experience God's merciful hand to raise dead man. It means He moves us from the grave of perdition to the most pleasant place, namely the eternal Kingdom of Heaven.

All of us must be in the hand of God. If we quit of the hand of God (coming out from the gate), we will be at the hand of Satan or the grave and lost.

The proofs if we are in the hand of God are as follows:
  1. Repenting.
    Romans 2:4
2:4. Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

It means, we die to sin, stop doing sin and return to God. We have to die to sin especially from eight sins that bring us to the fire and brimstone which is the second death.

    Revelation 21:8
    21:8. "But
the cowardly(1), unbelieving(2), abominable(3), murderers(4), sexually immoral(5), sorcerers(6), idolaters(7), and all liars(8)shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

    1. the cowardly: one fears to something until he does not fear God.
    2. unbelieving: one who is doubtful to God or true teaching.
    3. Abominable.
    4. murderers: hatred.
    5. sexually immoral.
    6. sorcerers: shaman, forecast.
    7. idolaters: talisman or everything that hinder us to love and prioritize God.
    8. Liars.

  2. Experiencing the renewal.
    Titus 3:5
3:5. not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

We have to experience renewal through two things as follows:

    1. Water baptism.
      Romans 6:4

6:4. Therefore we were buriedwith Him through baptisminto death, that just as Christ was raised from the deadby the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

True water baptism is one who has died to sin or repented must be buried in the water with Jesus and come out or rise from water with Him to receive new life, namely heavenly life.
We are baptized like Jesus is.

      Matthew 3:15-16
3:15. But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then he allowed Him.
3:16. When He had been baptized,
Jesus came upimmediatelyfrom the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.

With the new life, the heavens are opened for us. We experience heavenly life, namely life in righteousness.

    2. Holy Spirit baptism.
      I Timothy 4:1

4:1. Now the Spirit expresslysays that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

The Holy Spirit baptism makes us firm to hold fast the true teaching Word and refuse false teachings.

      Romans 8:15
8:15. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

We are used as the instrument of righteousness, we are faithful, right and equipped with the ministry for building the body of Christ.

The results are as follows
:
  1. All of our labor, heavy burden and sorrow are replaced with the happiness of Heaven.
  2. God raises us from all problems. All problems are finished and the impossible things become possible.
    Luke 7:13-14
7:13. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."
7:14. Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you,
    arise."

Arise means we have beautiful future. Formerly, we were dead or had no future, but now we can be raised, so there is beautiful future.

  3. The spiritual miracle happens, we experience the renewal of life.
    Luke 7:15
7:15. So he who was dead sat upand began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.

Sitting up means being calm or one who is shepherded well. We live in the serenity and surrender to God.
There is no tear and we live in happiness with God forever.
God blesses us.
