Bible Study Service in Malang, June 28, 2012 (Thursday Evening)
The whole Matthew 27 refers
to seven
sprinklings of blood upon the Ark of Covenant.
Now it means the suffering Jesus has experienced until He dies on
the cross to save, sanctify, and perfect us.
The first
sprinkling of blood [Matthew 27:1-10] is Judas betrays Jesus. The
second sprinkling of blood is Jesus faces Pilate with false
accusation, questions [Matthew 27:11-14], and injustice [Matthew
27:15-26].
Matthew
27:23-26 27:23
Then the governor said, "Why, what evil has He done?" But
they cried out all the more, saying, "Let Him be crucified!"
27:24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but
rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands
before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of
this just Person. You see to it." 27:25 And all the people
answered and said, "His blood be on us and on our children."
27:26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had
scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
Pilate
admits that Jesus is true but he releases Barabbas, the false person,
because of being afraid that great chaos will happen and the will to
satisfy many people.
The passage above is a prophecy that will
happen in the last days for sure. There will be many servants or sons
of God who serve like Pilate, namely serving
God without being on His side but the side of something in the world
such as family, riches, good position in the office, et
cetera.
Galatians
1:6-10 1:6
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in
the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 1:7 which is not
another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the
gospel of Christ. 1:8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven,
preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let
him be accursed. 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again,
if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have
received, let him be accursed. 1:10 For do I now persuade men,
or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I
still pleased men,
I would not be a bondservant of Christ.
The
facts found in ministering to God without being on His side are as
follows.
-
Being the slave of men
or serving God only to satisfy men.
The
meaning is as follows.
-
Ministering to God but
being disobedient and there is no accordance to the true teaching,
even he resists the true teaching in order to please men.
-
Ministering to God with
false teaching in order to deceive and make other people
perish.
For example, the false teaching lets people get marry
after divorcing. Actually, it is an adultery and perdition.
Mark
10:10-12 10:10
In the house His disciples also asked Him again about the same
matter. 10:11 So He said to them, "Whoever divorces his
wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 10:12
"And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she
commits adultery."
The
other example is the teaching that rejects the cross or teaches
Jesus without the cross.
2
Timothy 2:17-18 2:17
And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus
are of this sort, 2:18 who have strayed concerning the truth,
saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow
the faith of some.
-
Being the slave of
money, namely ministering to God only to seek money or physical
things.
Luke
16:14 16:14
Now the Pharisees, who were lovers
of money,
also heard all these things, and they derided Him.
Consequently,
one loses the power of God.
1
Corinthians 15:19 15:19
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the
most pitiable.
Such
person is of all men the most pitiable, even of the people who do
not believe in Jesus.
-
Being the slave of
sin.
John
8:34 8:34
Jesus answered them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever
commits sin is a slave of sin.
One
who ministers to God while he is sinning is not the servant of God
but the slave of sin. All people have sinned but we have to
repent after realizing the sin. Do not enjoy in sin.
Thus, ministering to God
without being on His side but the side of human, money, or sin, is an
idolatry and perdition. Formerly,
there was the idolatry when the house of Israel went out of Egypt.
Someday the Church of God will also get out of the world and there
will be many idolatries.
Exodus
32:25-27 32:25
Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had
not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies), 32:26
then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, "Whoever
is on the LORD's side -- come to me." And all the sons of Levi
gathered themselves together to him. 32:27 And he said to them,
"Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'Let every man put his sword
on his side, and go in and out from entrance to entrance throughout
the camp, and let every man kill his brother, every man his
companion, and every man his neighbor.' "
The
servant of God is one who ministers to God with being
on His side. Being
on God's side means putting sword on our side as follows.
-
Holding fast to the true
teaching Word which is sharper than any two-edged sword.
-
Being obedient to the true
teaching Word.
We have to hold fast and
obey the true teaching Word whatever risk we have to face.
Solomon
uses sword to solve the problem of two mothers who fight for a child.
It seems so sadistic but actually he is on the Lord's side.
Exodus
32:3-4,6,25 32:3
"So all the people broke off the golden earrings which were in
their ears, and brought them to Aaron. 32:4 And he received the
gold from their hand, and he fashioned it with an engraving tool, and
made a molded calf. Then they said, "This is your god, O Israel,
that brought you out of the land of Egypt!" 32:6 Then they
rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought
peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose
up to play. 32:25 Now when Moses saw that the people were
unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among
their enemies), Using
the true teaching Word seems to be sadistic as the sons of Levi who
are commanded to kill their brothers and neighbors.
The other
tribes which are the biggest part have no sword. Moreover, they take
off the golden earrings, referring to disobedience. Consequently,
they are wild as a horse which is not restrained, meaning life in the
lust of flesh, idolatry, and the peak of sin or the sins concerning
eating-drinking and marrying-being given in marriage but they say
that they worship God. Such is the description of one who is made
blind by other teaching.
Exodus
32:28 32:28
So the sons of Levi did according to the word of Moses. And about
three thousand men of the people fell that day.
These
things will happen at the time we put the sword on our side.
-
Separation
between one who puts sword on his side on the other who does not. It
must happen whatever efforts are done to hinder. On the contrary,
one will unite with other person although there is long distance
among them as long as both of them put the sword on their side.
-
Sanctification
until we get the figure 3000.
The figure 3000 refers to the
volume of the Holy Place (20x10x10) added with the Most Holy Place
(10x10x10).
Acts
2:41-42 2:41
Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day
about three thousand souls were added to them. 2:42 And they
continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in
the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
The
figure 2000 means we persevere in doing three main services to the
Lord in shepherding or the Holy Place as follows.
-
Golden Candlestick (in
the days of Moses) --> perseverance in doing fellowship (in the
earlier rain Church) --> perseverance in doing General Service
(in the latter rain Church).
-
Table of Showbread -->
perseverance in apostle's doctrine and the breaking of bread -->
perseverance in doing Bible Study Service with Holy Communion.
-
Golden Altar of Incense
--> perseverance in prayers --> perseverance in doing Prayer
Service.
We are covered by God as
the Holy Place is covered by four layers of covering. It means we
are in the embrace of God.
The figure 1000 means we reach
perfection or the Most Holy Place until we do not lack
anything.
But be careful because there is another figure
3000, namely the one in the temple of Dagon.
Judges
16:25-27,29 16:25
So it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call
for Samson, that he may perform for us." So they called for
Samson from the prison, and he performed for them. And they
stationed him between the pillars. 16:26 Then Samson said to
the lad who held him by the hand, "Let me feel the pillars
which support the temple, so that I can lean on them." 16:27
Now the temple was full of men and women. All the lords of the
Philistines were there -- about three thousand men and women on the
roof watching while Samson performed. 16:29 And Samson took
hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple, and he
braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his
left.
The
figure 3000 has negative meaning, namely service and ministry to God
without the true teaching but fables and performance. They have two
pillars, namely prosperity and entertainment. There is no
sanctification, so there will be idolatry and the fall of the
pillars.
On the contrary, we are inside the house of God
Solomon builds with two strong pillars as follows.
1
Kings 7:21 7:21
Then he set up the pillars by the vestibule of the temple; he set up
the pillar on the right and called its name Jachin, and he set up
the pillar on the left and called its name Boaz.
The
pillar Jachin means the Lord will make us firm. The pillar Boaz
means there is strength in the Lord. Combining both of them, we
will be
strong and of good courage
when we are putting the sword on our side, whatever risk we have to
face. The two pillars will never fall until we reach the figure 3000
or perfection.
Romans
8:31-37 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be
against us? 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered
Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all
things? 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It
is God who justifies. 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ
who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right
hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 8:35 Who shall
separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress,
or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36
As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We
are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." 8:37 Yet in all
these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved
us.
When
we are on God's side, the Lord is on our side and we feel the His
love we
indeed need as the ark that cannot be separated from the mercy seat
because we are as sheep for slaughter. There is only a step between
us and the death.
The result is as follows:
-
[Romans 8:32] The merciful
hand of God is able to preserve our present life up to the beautiful
future and eternal one.
-
[Romans 8:33-34] Great
Shepherd pleads and protects us from the judgment of God and all
disasters in the world, even antichrist.
-
[Romans 8:35] The merciful
hand of God gives us extra strength so we are not separated from
Him, disappointed or hopeless in facing all matters. We can keep
being faithful and fervent in spirit until the end when Jesus comes
a second time.
-
[Romans 8:37] The merciful
hand of God makes us more than conquerors, namely we are victorious
although we are powerless.
It will continue until the last
victory when we sit on the throne of God.
Revelation
3:21 3:21
"To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
God blesses you.
