The whole Matthew 27 refers to the seven sprinklings of blood upon the Ark of Covenant.
Now it means the suffering Jesus has experienced until He dies on the cross to save, sanctify, bless, and perfect us.

The first sprinkling of blood is written in Matthew 27:1-10, namely Jesus handed over to Pontius Pilate and Judas Iscariot’s death.

The second sprinkling of blood is written in Matthew 27:11-26, namely Jesus faces Pilate as follows.
  • Jesus faces questions and accusations.
  • Jesus faces injustice because Barabbas, the false, is released whereas Jesus, the true, is tormented and crucified.
The third sprinkling of bloodis written in Matthew 27: 27-31, namely the soldiers mock Jesus.

Matthew 27: 27-31
27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around Him.
27:28 And they stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him.
27:29 When they had twisted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand. And they bowed the knee before Him and mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
27:30 Then they spat on Him, and took the reed and struck Him on the head.
27:31 And when they had mocked Him, they took the robe off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him away to be crucified.

The soldiers put a scarlet robe on Jesus, mocking and despising Him.
The scarlet robe refers to the authority of a king.

Thus, the soldiers put on the scarlet robe to Jesus means they mock and despise the authority of Jesus as the King of all kings.

1 Corinthians 15:25-26
15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

The authority of Jesus as a king is to defeat all enemies under His feet.

There are three kinds of main enemies defeated by the authority of Jesus as the king of all kings as follows.
  1. The world with all its influences such as the business, amenities, and sorrows.
    James 4:4
4:4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Making friendship with the world means being influenced by it until there is no faithfulness anymore in doing service and ministry to God.
The unfaithfulness means mocking the authority of Jesus as the King of all kings and being the enemy of God.

  2. The flesh with all its will and lust that makes us disobedient to God’s commandment.
    Romans 8:7
8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

The flesh will has power to entice and drag, so one goes out of the Word of God or disobeys it.

    The examples are as follows.

    • Eve eats the forbidden fruit because of her flesh will, referring to inside factor, and hearing the voice of serpent or strange voice, referring to outside factor. Consequently, she is not firm but disobedient to God’s Word.

    • John the Baptist, in New Testament, rebukes King Herod because of getting married with Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife. The lust about marriage causes Herod’ disobedience, so he has false marriage.

The disobedience means mocking the authority of Jesus as the King of all kings and being the enemy of God.

  3. The death or sin, that causes unrighteousness and uncleanness.
    1 Corinthians 15:25-26
15:25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Being unrighteous through keeping sin means mocking the authority of Jesus as the King of all kings and being the enemy of God. Consequently, there is second death in hell.

    1 Samuel 20: 3

20:3 Then David took an oath again, and said, "Your father certainly knows that I have found favor in your eyes, and he has said, ‘Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.’ But truly, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."

A step means a heart-beat. It is our distance with physical and spiritual death and the one in hell.
David confesses “there is but a step between me and death.”It shows us that every our heart-beat is threatened by the death.

There is death which is working to bring man to the second death in hell where there is unrighteousness.

The safest place to fight against the death is at the foot of Jesus as the King [1 Corinthians 15:25].

    Luke 7:36-38,50
7:36 Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee’s house, and sat down to eat.
7:37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,
7:38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil.
7:50 Then He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."

Sitting at Jesus’ feet, the King who has defeated the death, means making peace with God and other people, referring to the cross.
The true way of making peace is because of the encouragement of the Word of God. Do not wait for the chastisement of God until there is destruction first.

The process of making peace is as follows.
    • "Wash His feet with her tears" = realizing and regretting the sins.
We often make peace without knowing our mistake. Such is not complete. We have to clearly mention our sins when we confess them.

    • "Wiped them with the hair of her head" = throwing off all prides until we feel as the most despicable and powerless.
    • "Kissed His feet" = confessing sins to God and other people and the blood of Jesus forgives and reconciles our sins. We are justified and able to live in righteousness.
We will be faithful and obedient if we live in righteousness.

    • "Anointed them with the fragrant oil" = having the anointing oil of Holy Spirit when we live in righteousness, faithfulness, and obedience.

The function of the anointing oil of Holy Spirit is as follows.

      • To give us the gifts of Holy Spirit and the ministry, so we can serve and glorify God, the King of all kings. We are employed in the ministry of building the perfect body of Christ.
Serving God in the anointing of Holy Spirit means we glorify Him. On the contrary, serving with flesh lust will make God ashamed and grieved.

      • To result in harmony that makes us one forever, not as the harmony in the world.
        Psalm 133:1-3
133:1 <<A Song of Ascents. Of David.>>Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
133:2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.
133:3 It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing––Life forevermore.

        Romans 15:5-6
15:5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like–minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,
        15:6 that you may
with one mindand one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The harmony in the anointing of Holy Spirit means being one in heart and teaching, so there is one voice in worship.
As a result, all things become good and beautiful in His time [Psalm 133:1]. Moreover, God commands blessings to come upon us [Psalm 133:3], both the physical one and eternal life.

      • To pay all our debts, both physical and spiritual one. The debt refers to something that is not finished. All matters will be finished by the anointing oil of Holy Spirit.
        2 Kings 4:1-3
4:1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves."
4:2 So Elisha said to her, "What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?" And she said, "Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil."
4:3 Then he said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors––empty vessels; do not gather just a few.

There is remnant of the oil refers to the reserve so that our lamp keeps on burning until Jesus comes a second time.
The meaning of the burning lamp is as follows.

        1. Being faithful and fervent in spirit whatever our condition is.
        2. Keeping on living in righteousness and holiness.

        3. Having life renewal to shine the testimony in our life.
It continues until Jesus comes a second time that we are renewed to become as glorious as Jesus is. We do not mock Jesus but glorify Him as the King on glorious clouds.
God blesses you.
