Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation 3:14-22 is about the church of the Laodiceans, the seventh church, the last one on the last days, or all of us.

Revelation 3:15-16
3:15 "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
3:16 "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Their condition is lukewarm, neither cold nor hot.

Exodus 32:17-18
32:17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, "There is a noise of war in the camp."
32:18 But he said: "It is not the noise of the shout of victory, Nor the noise of the cry of defeat, But the sound of singing I hear."

It is the same as the house of Israel at the foot of Mount Sinai who were neither victorious nor defeated.

The facts found in spiritual lukewarmness are as follows.

  1. Worshiping idol or the golden calf.
    Exodus 32:19
32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

    It means as follows.

    • Being stiff-necked or hard-hearted. It means not obeying the Word.
      Exodus 32:9
32:9 And the LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and indeed it is a stiff-necked people!

One who is disobedient is hindering the building of Tabernacle or the perfect body of Christ although he is serving and ministering to God. He is used in building Babylon.

    • Being bound by riches or the will of money. It causes stinginess and greediness or idolatry.

      Colossians 3:5
3:5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

  2. Being in the lust of fleshly joy.
    Exodus 32:19
32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

    Exodus 32:6
32:6 Then they rose early on the next day, offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

    It means as follows.

    • Serving the Lord in the fleshly joy and amenities, namely singing and dancing without the sanctification.
We must keep our physical appearance so that there is no uncleanness.

    • Serving and ministering to the Lord only to look for fleshly things. Consequently, there is no spiritual wage anymore.

  3. Being like unrestrained horse.
    Exodus 32:25
32:25 Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies),

It means being outside the shepherding pen or not being shepherded.
It happens when one unfaithfully serves and ministers to God. It can happen also when one comes to the church to serve to God, but his heart is outside.

The shepherding pen in Tabernacle refers to the Holy Place, in which there are three kinds of equipment that refer to the perseverance in doing three main services to God as follows.

    • Golden Candlestick or perseverance in doing General Serviceto have the fellowship with Holy Spirit God in the gifts.
    • Table of Showbread or perseverance in doing Bible Study Service with Holy Communionto get the fellowship with the Son of God in the Word and Holy Communion.
    • Golden Altar of Incense or perseverance in doing Worship Prayer Serviceto get the fellowship with Father God in the love.

Our body, soul, and spirit attach to the trinity of God in the shepherding pen, so we become the shepherded sheep. We have the physical preservation for our body and the spiritual one. We experience the peace and all things become easy and light. We have the guarantee of salvation from the Lord.

A pastor that is not shepherded will not feed the congregation. Consequently, both the pastor and the sheep are scattered. They become unrestrained horse as follows.

    • Being weary, heavy laden, and scattered.
      Matthew 9:36
9:36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Being scattered means that no one is responsible for their life, especially for the salvation of their soul.

    • The flesh is not repressed, so they live according to the fleshly lusts that aim at the sin peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse) and ones concerning marrying-being given in marriage (sexuality sin with all of its kind and wrong marriage.
      Jeremiah 5:8
5:8 They were like well-fed lusty stallions; Every one neighed after his neighbor's wife.

The mouth cannot be restrained also like the one of the antichrist, so one speaks idle words, gossip, and blasphemy to God, the true teaching Word, and the righteous people.

The consequences of the lukewarmness are as follows.

  1. Being vomited by God. The life becomes like the vomit that is useless, disgusting, unclean, and separated from God forever.
    Revelation 3:16
3:16 "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

  2. God gets angry and destroys them up to the sea of fire and brimstone forever.
    Exodus 32:10
32:10 "Now therefore, let Me alone, that My wrath may burn hot against them and I may consume them. And I will make of you a great nation."

    Exodus 32:19
32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

There is relationship between the anger of Moses and the wrath of God. God has been angry when a right pastor is angry. God is getting angry also when a pastor acts carelessly.

    Ezekiel 34:1-2,10
34:1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
34:2 "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD to the shepherds: "Woe to the shepherds of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?
34:10 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will require My flock at their hand; I will cause them to cease feeding the sheep, and the shepherds shall feed themselves no more; for I will deliver My flock from their mouths, that they may no longer be food for them."

Exodus 32:19
32:19 So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses' anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

The way of God to help is Moses' breaking the two tablets of stone that contain the Ten Commandments. If Moses had kept the two tablets of stone while the house of Israel were in lukewarmness because they were sinning and committing adultery, they would have been condemned by God. Moses broke the two tablets of stone so that they would not get the anger of God. It is called as the redemption.

The first two tablets of stone were received by Moses from God. The stone and writing came from God. It refers to the manifestation of God's love to human. The two tablets of stone that were broken refer to Jesus that must be crucified. It is better that Jesus dies on the cross for redeeming the sinful than all men perish.

John 19:32-34
19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him.
19:33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

Jesus has died on the cross with four main wounds for redeeming the house of Israel or the chosen nation. The fifth wound in the side is the biggest and deepest one for redeeming the Gentiles. The dog and swine can be the sheep of God that live in the righteousness through the sign of blood or repentance and the one of water or water baptism.

The results of the redemption are as follows.

  1. The gold calf is destroyed, ground to powder, and drunk.
    Exodus 32:20
32:20 Then he took the calf which they had made, burned it in the fire, and ground it to powder; and he scattered it on the water and made the children of Israel drink it.

    It means as follows.

    • Being destroyed means that the hard heart is changed into the gentle one.
      James 1:21
1:21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

The gentle heart can seriously hear the Word of God no matter how hard it is, understand, and believe it to become faith in the heart. The proof is our broken heart and regret of our sin, so we can confess it to God and other people. After being forgiven, we do not repeat the sin. We are saved. We can obey the Word and be sanctified and perfected. It means a success.

    • Being ground to powder. It means that the power of sin is destroyed. We are set free from soft sins we often do not realize because they have been the habits.
      Hebrews 10:25
10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

The habitual sin happens when one often does not serve to God without any regret.

      Proverbs 22:24-25
22:24Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go,
22:25 Lest you learn his ways And set a snare for your soul.

It also happens when one easily gets angry and follows the tradition that is not in line with the Word of God.

    • Being drunk. It means that we are set free from the curse of sin.
Every sin has the curse, namely bitterness, weariness, tears, up to the perdition. Do not sin. Do not agree with sin.

      Galatians 3:11-14
3:11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "the just shall live by faith."
3:12 Yet the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."
3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),
3:14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Jesus has born the curse of sin so that the blessings of Abraham come to the Gentiles. The blessings of Abraham are double as follows.

      1. Physical blessings up to our descendants in the midst of difficulties in the world and we can be blessings for others.
The world has been difficult now. Do not make your life and children's one more difficult by keeping the sins. Do not be egoistic. We must be blessing for other people and not give them disadvantage.

      2. Spiritual blessings, namely Holy Spirit. This is the proof that we have been set free from sin as well as the curse and punishment of sin.

  2. The new two tablets of stone were formed like the first.
    Exodus 34:1
34:1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.

The first two tablets of stone refer to Jesus. The new ones were formed means that there are God's opportunity and mercy so that we can be formed to be as perfect and glorious as Jesus is. We can be the heavenly bride.

    The process is as follows.

    • Being cut or sanctified by the sword of God's Word. We throw away the things that are not the same as Jesus.
      Matthew 15:19
15:19 "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

Our heart is full of seven evil unclean desires. The hard stone must be cut by the sword.

      Isaiah 11:1-2
11:1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
11:2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

If the hard heart is sanctified from the seven evil unclean desires, it will be filled by Holy Spirit with the seven manifestations until we can have the fear of the Lord and obedience that our flesh does not speak anymore. It means that we have the heart of Jesus.

    • Being written with the Ten Commandments or the love of God.
      Exodus 34:1
34:1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke.

God writes His love in us because He knows our condition is like the sheep for slaughter. There is only a step between us and the death.
He writes "I love you". We also write "I love You more than all things ". It happens in the Holy Communion. John leaned on Jesus' bosom at the last supper or Holy Communion.

      John 13:23
13:23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved.

      Romans 8:35-37
8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
8:36 As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."
8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

      The results are as follows.

      1. The love of Jesus gives us extra power so that we can be strong and of good courage. We keep on holding fast the true teaching Word, regardless of any risk we have to take.

      2. The love of Jesus makes us more than conquerors. We are powerless, but victorious because the love of Jesus fights for us. All impossible problems are solved and we defeat the death. The last victory happens when we sit with Jesus on the throne of heaven.

        Revelation 3:21
3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

God blesses us.
