Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are in Revelation 2-3 (it has been explained from General Service in Surabaya, July 27, 2014)about the last sanctification to the seven churches that they can be perfect. The church has many excellences, but cannot welcome Jesus' second coming if there is a blemish. Therefore, we need the last sanctification.

We are learning Revelation 3: 14-22 about the church of the LAODICEANS. This is the last or the seventh church in the book of Revelation that shows the condition of the church in the last days or all of us (it has been explained from General Service in Surabaya, June 14, 2015).

Revelation 3: 21-22
3:21. "
To him who overcomesI will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
3:22 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."

Salam sejahtera dalam kasih sayangnya TUHAN kita Yesus Kristus.

THE PROMISE OF GODto the church of the Laodiceans or all of us who overcome is sitting with Him on the throne of the heavenly kingdom. This is our main and last purpose in following and ministering to Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15: 25-26
15:25. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
15:26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is
death.

The last enemy that is defeated is the death. It means that there are the other enemies.
There are three main enemies that must be defeated as follows.

  1. The death or sin.
    Hebrews 2: 14-15
2:14.Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
2:15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
    bondage.

Jesus came in the world as a man in flesh and blood who was not sinful. He willingly died on the cross to defeat the death or sin and set us free from the bondage of sin.

Thus, Jesus has overcome the death or sin. We must also overcome the death or sin through this process.

    • Believing or having faith in Jesusthrough hearing the Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit.
      Romans 10: 17
10:17. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We hear the Word in the anointing of Holy Spirit until we understand and believe it to become faih in our heart. It will save us or set us free from the death or sin.

    • Confessing the sins to God and other people. After being forgiven, do not sin anymore, but repent.
      Romans 10: 10
10:10. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is madeunto salvation.

    • Being baptized of water and Holy Spirit.
      John 3: 5
3:5. Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

Being born of water = water baptism.
Being born of the Spirit = Holy Spirit baptism.

      Romans 6: 4
6:4. Therefore we were buriedwith Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

The true water baptism happens when one who has died to sin or repented is buried in water with Jesus to come out of water or be raised with Him and get the new life, namely the heavenly one. Formerly, we were born by our mother to get the suitable life in the world, not for the life in heaven. Therefore, we must be reborn by God through the water and Holy Spirit baptism.

There are two mistakes about the water baptism as follows.

      • One who has not died to sin yet is forced to get the burial of water baptism so that he may become the member of the church. Consequently, he becomes rebellious.

      • One who has died to sin does not want to be buried, so he is rotten more and more.

Thus, we get the new life or the heavenly one through the water and Holy Spirit baptism. We become like a newborn babyor the spiritual one.

      1 Peter 2: 1-2
2:1. Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
      2:2 as
newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

The signsof the spiritual newborn baby are as follows.

      • Verse 1: living in righteousness; there is no sin. We are like a baby who does not sin. All things such as our private life, saying, deed, thought, identity card, driving license, marriage, job, and service and ministry to God are right.

      • Verse 2: the right feelingslike a baby who only needs or desires the pure spiritual milk of the Shepherding Word that is preached continually in order.
Spiritually, a pastor refers to a mother that gives the breast milk and solid food or rebuke and advice.

If we have the right life and feelings, we will grow to the salvationor righteousness. The salvation is the same as the righteousness. We are surrounded by God as with a shield, namely the grace and blessings.
      Psalm 5: 12
5:12. For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surroundhim as with a shield.

It means that we are preserved directly by God and protected from curse and perdition. We have the atmosphere of paradise.

  2. The world.
    John 16: 32-33
16:32. "Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
    I have overcome the world."

Jesus has overcome the world. We must also overcome the world with all of its influences as follows.

    • Activities.
    • Sorrows.
    • Problems.
    • Amenities.
    • Hatred without any cause, even the persecution because of Jesus.

The proofs of overcoming the world are as follows.

    • Verse 33: 'be of good cheer'=> being strong and of good courageas follows

      • We keep on believing and hoping fully in Jesus.
      • We are not doubtful, disappointed, nor hopelessin facing all things and we do not leave God.
      • We always do good deedslike Jesus who was persecuted and crucified but kept on doing good deeds. He prayed for the people who crucified Him. He did not repay evil for evil. We repay good for evil and we are peaceful. The waves and storm in the world can be faced only with the peaceful heart like Jesus who slept in the midst of waves.
If the sea has been made calm, we will feel easy and light and the direction is firm, namely to the heavenly throne or New Jerusalem where we can sit with Him.

    • Being faithful and fervent in spirit in serving and ministering to God until the end.
      James 4: 4
4:4. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the worldis enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

The world is the enemy of God. It makes us unfaithful. We can be faithful if we overcome the world.

      Acts 20: 24
20:24. "But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my racewith joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

All things must be sacrificed in order to be faithful in serving and ministering to God until the end, namely we die or Jesus comes a second time.

Overcoming the world means that we become the faithful and good servants of God.

    The results are as follows.
    Matthew 25: 21
25:21. "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

    • We have the heavenly joy that cannot be affected by anything in the world.
    • We are trusted with the great thing, namely we are used in the revival of Holy Spirit at the latter rain to build the perfect body of Christ.

If we are satisfied or joyful in the service and ministry, we will get the great gain, namely the two wings of a great eagle that cannot be bought by anything.
      1 Timothy 6: 6
6:6. Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

      'contentment' = satisfaction and joy.

The two wings of a great eagle will evacuate us to the wilderness (Revelation 12: 14); we are far away from the eyes of the antichrist and preserved as well as protected directly by God for three and a half years with the teaching Word and Holy Communion like the house of Israel whom God preserved with manna.
Thus, the Bible Study Service with Holy Communion is the training to evacuate with the Lord to the wilderness. The two wings of a great eagle lift us up to the glorious clouds when Jesus comes a second time, Future Paradise, up to New Jerusalem to sit with Him on the heavenly throne.

  3. The flesh.
    Philippians 2: 8-10
2:8. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
2:9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,

Verse 10 = Satan the trinity is defeated.

Jesus is obedient to the point of death of the cross. He defeats the flesh with all of its desires that cause disobedience.

    Romans 8: 6-7
8:6. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
    8:7 Because
the carnal mindis enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.

If we live according to the flesh, we will not please God, but resist against Him.

Jesus overcomes the flesh. We must also overcome the flesh with all of its will and desires. We must be obedientuntil our flesh does not speak anymore.

If we are not obedient, we will be swallowed by the flesh with all of its desires like Peter and his friends.

    John 21: 3, 7
21:3. Simon Peter said to them, "I am going fishing." They said to him, "We are going with you also." They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing.
21:7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment (for
he had removed it), and plunged into the sea.

The Lord had commanded Peter to catch men, but then he used his fleshly mind after Jesus died, so he returned to become the fisherman. He was not obedient.

The consequences of disobedience are as follows.

    • Not catching anything. It means total failure.
The success is determined by our obedience.

    • 'for he had removed it' refers to the nakednessor falling and rising in sins up to the peak, namely sins concerning eating-drinking such as smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse, and the ones concerning marrying-being given in marriage such as sexuality sin with all of its kinds, sexual deviation or homosexuality, lesbianism, and sexuality to oneself, and the wrong marriage.

Peter was taught to be obedient until the flesh did not speak anymore.
    John 21: 4-6, 10-11
21:4. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
21:5 Then Jesus said to them, "Children, have you any food?" They answered Him, "No."
21:6 And He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So
they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.
21:10 Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."
21:11 Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish,
one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

Jesus preached the hard teaching Word that was sharper than any two-edged sword as the test of obedience and the stretching out of God's handswhen Peter was in death (curse and weariness), dominion of the world (unfaithfulness and there was no joy), even disobedience (nakedness and failure).

The teaching Word often cannot be accepted by the logic. After they had failed at night-time (the right time for catching fish) in the deep sea, God commanded to cast the net in daytime on the seashore.

Hearing the Word is not for discussing it, but believing and obeying it until the flesh does not speak anymore. This is the test of obedience. We are obedient until our flesh does not speak anymore when we obey the Word that is illogical.

The Lord commanded Abraham to kill his son. It was not in line with the logic because he had waited for the son for twenty five years. This was a test of obedience.

Peter cast the net. He was obedient until the flesh did not speak anymore. As a result, he could catch 153 fish.

We are obedient until the flesh does not speak anymore means that we stretch out our hands to Godand we live in His merciful hands.
153= 1+5+3= 9--the number of God's mercy. The miracles happen as follows.

    • For our spiritual life. We get the greatest miracle, namely the life renewalfrom fleshly man to spiritual one like Jesus is.

Being renewed is the same as bearing fruits.
      Galatians 5: 22-23
5:22. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
5:23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law..

The nine fruits of Spirit can be divided into three groups as follows.

      • Love, joy, peace = the image or character of Father God.
      • Longsuffering, kindness, goodness = the image or character of Jesus, the Son of God.
      • Faithfulness, gentleness, self-control = the image or character of Holy Spirit God.

The life renewal begins from the shining joyful face because there is the image of the Trinity of God. Our face is not sad like Cain's (because of the failure in ministry) and Hannah's (because of the problem in marriage), not pale or afraid, not marred like dog and swine, and not like Peter's that was like Satan.

    • For our physical life.

      • From no fish to many fish; we are preserved directly by God. Our marriage is helped by God and there is sweet wine for the bitter marriage as long as we are obedient.

      • From impossible to possible; all problems are solved.

    • We get the last miracle, namely we are changed to be as glorious as Jesus is when He comes a second time or we shine like the sun. Now, we have the shining joyful face.

God blesses you.
