General Service in Malang, April 10, 2011 (Sunday Morning)
Matthew
26:6-13 is about the PREPARATION
FOR THE PASSOVER.
Matthew
26:12 26:12 For in pouring this fragrant oil on My
body, she did it for My burial.
Preparation
for the Passover = preparation for the death or slaughtering of Jesus
as the Lamb of Passover (Lamb of God).
Jesus
must die or must be slaughtered for two things as follows:
-
To save people who have died and been rotten
in sins.
(To recover the broken
clay pot.)
- To pour the Holy Spirit, such
that the recovered clay pot will not break anymore.
John
16:7 16:7. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is
to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the
Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to
you.
A clay pot (our life) which is
filled with knowledge, richness, etc. is highly valued as an
alabaster flask. But remember, an alabaster flask will also break
into pieces.
Our life must be
filled with the Holy Spirit.
Ad. 2 Matthew
26:7, 12 26:7 a woman came to Him having an
alabaster flask of very costly fragrant oil, and she poured it
on His head as He sat at the table. 26:12
For in pouring this fragrant oil on My body, she did it
for My burial.
Life
who is anointed or fulfilled with the Holy Spirit is as a woman who
poured fragrant oil to the body of Jesus, for the preparation of His
burial.
Pouring the oil = a
service. Jesus' head/ body = the body
of Christ (all of us). Burial = the
last time in this world.
Thus, life
who is anointed/ fulfilled by the Holy Spirit is
life who is used in the revival of
building the perfect body of Christ (the revival of Holy Spirit in
the last rain).
Life who wants
to be used in this Year of Revival, must be anointed and fulfilled by
the Holy Spirit. Life who is used by
God is life who is anointed/ fulfilled by the Holy Spirit, no matter
the richness, the intelligence, etc.
If
one is spiritually withered (without the Holy Spirit), he will not be
used by God.
The requirements
for life who is used in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain
are as follows:
-
We must experience the ministry of
reconciliation or redemption by the blood of Christ.
I
Peter 1:18-19 1:18
knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things,
like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct
received by tradition from your fathers, 1:19
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb
without blemish and without spot.
We
must experience redemption or reconciliation from sins by the
expensive blood of Jesus (which is illustrated as a very costly
fragrant oil).
We must be redeemed
from:
-
Heritage sins.
-
Custom sins (especially sins which are not in
agreement with the Word of God).
-
Own sins, especially eight sins which will
destroy us in the hell.
Revelation
21:8 21:8 But the cowardly
(1), unbelieving (2),
abominable (3), murderers
(4), sexually immoral (5),
sorcerers (6), idolaters
(7), and all liars (8)
shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and
brimstone, which is the second death."
Doing
sins = throwing the clay pot. If we add or repeat the sins, it is
equal to throwing again the broken clay pot, until being destroyed
in the hell.
The consequences are
as follows:
-
The clay pot which is broken into pieces will
not be useful again for God and the others (cannot be used), only
be used for throwing (life who keeps the sins must like to say bad
things about the others and judging the others).
-
Being broken and perished forever in the hell.
The result of being redeemed
life: Revelation
1:5-6 1:5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful
witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings
of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His
own blood, 1:6 and has
made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be
glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
-
We can live in the righteousness, that
is the expensive life
(precious) in front of God.
Although
we are great in the world, but as long as we still keep the wrong
things, actually we have no value in front of God.
-
We are lifted as priests and kings, that
are lives who minister and serve God (expensive
lives in front of God).
We
are trusted by God in the ministry of reconciliation, ministry of
building the perfect body of Christ.
II
Corinthians 5:18-19 5:18
Now all things are of God, who has reconciled
us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry
of reconciliation, 5:19 that
is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not
imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word
of reconciliation.
It is God
who lifts up our life, not man. If we
are trusted by God, our life will become really beautiful. As a
comparison, if we are trusted by human in this world, we will be
happy. Moreover if we are trusted by God.
After
being trusted by God, we must keep God's trust. Do
not let God's trust be shifted to the others!
Judas
did not keep God's trust, such that his ministry was shifted to
Matthias and Judas could not come back anymore in his whole
lifetime. Judas was perished forever.
Life
who is used by God = life who pleases God. The
result is our life becomes easy and light.
-
We must experience purification.
By
what are we purified?
Hebrews
4:12-13 4:12 For the word of God is
living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing
even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 4:13
And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but
all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to
whom we must give account.
We
are purified by the work of the
teaching Word which is sharper than any two-edged sword.
The
work of the Word is able to purify us from sins, especially sins
hidden within heart and mind. If heart
and mind are purified, our whole life will be purified.
-
Heart is purified from evil desire (desire of
money), which causes stinginess and
greediness, and unclean desire.
Matthew
26:8 26:8 But when His disciples saw it,
they were indignant, saying, "Why this waste?
-
Being stingy = cannot give (time,
money, energy, mind, etc.) even thinking
that sacrificing for God is a waste.
Matthew
26:10 26:10 But when Jesus was aware of it,
He said to them, "Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done
a good work for Me.
Every
sacrifice for the service of building body of Christ is
NOT A WASTE. It is a GOOD DEED for
GOD. Thus, God is able to make
everything good in our life.
-
Being greedy = robbing the others'
belonging, especially starting from
God's own, that is the tithes and special offerings.
A
tithe is related with the availability of spiritual food (the
Word). If there is spiritual food
(the Word), we will be able to grow spiritually and will not enter
future spiritual famine.
-
Heart is purified from "hair".
John 12:3 12:3
Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard,
anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet with her
hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the
oil.
-
Hair = all the prides (relying
on intelligence, richness, etc.).
We
must be purified from all our prides such that we can SUBMIT to
God. Life who does not want to
submit, cannot be used by God.
Let
us not rely on ourselves, but rely on
God and fully surrender to God.
-
Hair = worthy feeling, such that asking for
the rights (not being satisfied).
If
one asks for the rights, there will be fighting, disputing,
hatred, etc.
In the other hand,
if heart is purified and we do not ask for the rights, we become
servants who only have duties
(without rights). Jesus'
own pattern also serves without rights, there are only duties (He
was not wrong, but He had to leave the Heaven and was crucified to
save human).
Our rights and
wages are in the hands of God, and God never fools us.
-
Hair = slipperiness, hypocrisy.
The
practices are covering sins by doing good things, covering sins by
blaming the others, and covering sins by reversing the Word's
verses (as Adam and Eve who hide in the
back of the trees).
Let us
become an honest life. An
honest life will be used by God and his prayer will be answered by
God.
-
We must be anointed with the anointing oil
of Holy Spirit.
Leviticus
21:12 21:12 nor shall he go out of the sanctuary,
nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the consecration of the
anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am
the LORD.
We must be inside the Holy
Place, that is the shepherding pen, such that we are always anointed
by the Holy Spirit.
We must be
well shepherded, starting from the
pastor, and then being followed by the congregation.
Inside
the Tabernacle's Holy Place (which was built following the pattern
of the Heaven), there are three devices, which denote the
perseverance in three main services;
-
Perseverance in General Service (drinking).
-
Perseverance in Bible Study and Holy Communion
(eating).
-
Perseverance in Worship Service (breathing).
Outside the shepherding pen, we will be
spiritually withered.
The
usefulness of the anointing oil of Holy Spirit:
Romans 5:5 5:5
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has
been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to
us.
Holy Spirit pours God's love in
us, such that we may become STRONG and
of GOOD COURAGE;
-
Not easily being disappointed and desperate
in facing everything.
-
Keep holding on one true teaching Word.
-
Do not want to do sins although
there are opportunities, benefits, threats, etc.
-
Being obedient whatever the risk. This
is the shepherded life.
For a
woman (wife, the bride), neck is for submission (OBEDIENCE).
An
example of not good life: Queen
Vashti was commanded by her husband, King Ahasuerus, to come with
the royal crown (it means that she will be shown as a good
pattern), but she was being disobedient. Her neck was not used to
submit, but to shake her head. The
consequence was the queen position was taken from Vashti and given
to Esther.
Submission = worship,
believing and fully surrendering to God. We
stretch out our hands to God and God will also stretch out His
hands to us.
The
results are as follows:
-
I Chronicles 19:13
19:13
Be of good courage, and let us be strong for our people and
for the cities of our God. And may the LORD do what is
good in His sight."
God
makes everything good in our life.
The example is Peter was being
strong and obedient when he was commanded by Jesus to launch the
nets during the day, although the Word of God contradicted his
logic. The result is God makes everything good.
-
I Thessalonians 3:13
3:13
so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness
before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ
with all His saints.
God is able to
perfect us as His bride, and we are
ready to welcome His second coming on the glorious clouds.
God blesses us
