THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE

THE BOARDS
The boards depict the children of God who have been redeemed by the Blood of Christ since His first coming to the earth and they form the Holy Place and the most Holy Place, which is the Tabernacle or the Temple, the dwelling place of God.

The verses:

  • I Corinthians 3: 16; 6: 19
  • II Corinthians 6: 16
  • Ephesians 2: 22
  • Hebrew 3: 6
  • I Peter 2: 5

The boards are made of acacia wood (flesh) overlaid with gold, which means: God’s children who have been filled with the Holy Spirit. The Temple of God consists of the children of God who are filled with the Holy Spirit.

THE SILVER SOCKETS
Silver speaks of the redemption which should become the base or foundation on which the Tabernacle is built/erected. The church of God is built not on the foundation or base of the world (sand) but on the rock of Christ’s redemption/reconciliation (Matthew 7: 24 – 27).

THE BARS
The bond and fellowship among the children of God are very tight and solid because it is worked on by the sacrifice of Christ (the middle bar, and the bars form a cross to unite the boards).

The unity of the Tabernacle lies in the 5 bars. The number 5 depicts the cross or the 5 wounds of Christ.

It signifies that the unity of the church can only be attained through the power of the cross.

CONCLUSION
The boards and bars are overlaid with gold depicting the unity and bond among the children of God to enable the house of God to stand uprightly through the Holy Spirit based on the atoning sacrifice of Christ.
