Peace and grace in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Revelation 21:1-8 can be divided as follows:

  1. Verse 1 is about a new heaven and a new earth.
  2. Verse 2-3 is about a new man.
  3. Verse 4-8 is about the new atmosphere.

Revelation 21:1
21:1. Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

It refers to the renewal as follows:

  1. The renewal of attention to care for the things of the Lord
  2. There is no more sea. It refers to the renewal of the doubtful heart.

James 1:5-6
1:5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
1:6. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the seadriven and tossed by the wind.

The meanings of the wavy sea are as follows:

  1. The doubtful heartas follows:

    • One doubts in facing the winds of the false teaching or serpent's voice or the one of the flesh, so he does not firmly hold fast to the true teaching Word as well as reject the false teaching. He always gives a chance to hear the other teaching.

      Genesis 3:1-3

3:1. Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
      3:2. And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden;
3:3. "but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, 'You shall not eat it, nor shall you
      touchit, lest you die.' "

      Genesis 2:16
      2:16. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;

      Genesis 2:17
2:17. "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

For example, Eve gave a chance to hear the serpent's voice, so she doubted. The fact was adding and taking away the Word or changing the Word.

      Genesis 3:6
3:6. So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

      Consequently, Eve became disobedient.

    • One doubts because of the winds of the impossible temptation, so he hopes others, not God. He also doubts to the power of God, so he gets disappointed and desperate as well as leaves God.

      Daniel 3:16-18
3:16. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
3:17. "If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king.
3:18. "But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego kept on trusting and hoping God even though they would not have been helped.

      James 1:5,7-8
1:5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
      1:7. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;
1:8. he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

The consequences of the doubtful heart are as follows:

      1. Not being wise or not enduring. It is the same as building his house on the sand, so it falls, and great is its fall. He falls from faith. He leaves the true teaching Word and proceeds to the false one. He denies Jesus.

      2. Getting nothing. His prayer is not answered by God. He cannot worship God, so he is empty and not satisfied. He experiences the spiritual dryness. His problems are never finished.

      3. Losing peace or the atmosphere of Paradise. He is in the curse atmosphere, namely weariness, heavy burden, toil, and tears until he drowns in the lake of fire and brimstone--perdition forever.

  2. The wicked.
    Isaiah 57:20-21
57:20. But the wicked are like the troubled sea, When it cannot rest, Whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
57:21. "There is no peace," Says my God, "for the wicked."

The wicked is the same as the following things:

    • The dirt. It refers to the scumbag. It means that one is useless even becomes burden. He embarrasses and harms others.
      Matthew 25:26,30
25:26. "But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed.
25:30. 'And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

It is the same as becoming the servant of God who is wicked and lazy. He becomes unfaithful and leaves the ministry.

Consequently, he lives in the outer darkness. He has no future, but weeps and gnashes teeth up to perdition forever.

      Matthew 25:21
25:21. "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

That is why we must become the servant of God who is good and faithful. The faithfulness is able to cover our weaknesses. We can do the good thing as well as become useful. The faithfulness wipes our tears, so we experience the heavenly bliss that is not influenced by anything even though in suffering.

    • The mire. It means committing sin.
      Galatians 5:19-21
5:19. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,
5:20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,
5:21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

The works of the sinful flesh and the idle words foul the marriage, shepherding, et cetera. It means that there is no presence of the High Priest, so there is no peace, but the spiritual dryness. He just blames and quarrels one another.

      Ezekiel 34:18-19
34:18. "Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture--and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet?
34:19. "And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet."

It is especially fouling the teaching Word, so it is reproached, and others do not want to hear it.

      Titus 2:6-7,10
2:6. Likewise exhort the young men to be sober-minded,
2:7. in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,
2:10. not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

We must be sober-minded, so we can become obedient and honest in the true teaching Word. We become a pattern of good works. It is the same as glorifying or decorating the true teaching Word. As a result, our life will be decorated too, even glorified with Jesus.

  3. The Gentiles on whom the Babylon sits.
    Revelation 17:1,15
17:1. Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,
17:15. Then he said to me, "The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.

    Revelation 18:2
18:2. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!

It means being controlled by the spirit of wickedness and uncleanness.

    • The spirit of wickednessis the love of money, so one becomes greedy and stingy.
Stinginess means that one cannot give for God's working and others who are in need.
Greediness means that one steals the possession of God, namely the tithe and special offering, and the one of others, including looking for money by legalizing all ways.

    • The spirit of uncleannessis the sin of eating-drinking (smoking, getting drunk, and drugs abuse) and marrying-giving in marriage (fornication, pornography, false marriage, infidelity, and divorce).

    Matthew 14:24-25,28-33
14:24. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
14:25. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.
14:28. And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."
14:29. So He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
14:30. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"
14:31. And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"
14:32. And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.
14:33. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

The wavy sea can happen to the servant of God who is used and blessed by God, so he begins to sink. It means the physical and spiritual decadences up to drowning in the lake of fire and brimstone.

The safe place from the wavy sea of the world is in the stretching hand of God that we can receive through the things as follows:

  1. The revelation of the Word or the preaching of the true teaching Word.
    Romans 10:16-17,21
10:16. But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our report?"
10:17. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
10:21. But to Israel he says: "All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people."

The true teaching Word is the one whose secret is revealed by Holy Spirit through one verse that explains the other verses in the Holy Bible.

Our attitude is stretching out our hands to God. It means hearing the Word earnestly, so we can understand, trust, and practice it.

  2. Worshipping God.
    Matthew 14:33
14:33. Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

It is the same as stretching out our hands to God. We totally surrender to Him. We confess that only Him who is able to do anything in our life. We cry out Jesus' name.

As a result, the miracle happens as follows:

    • God's merciful hand is able to lift us up in due time. The things that deteriorate will be restored even increased by God.

    • God's hand is able to finish all of impossible problems.
    • God is able to use our life in the revival of Holy Spirit in the last rain or the building of the perfect body of Christ.

    • We are purified and renewed up to perfection.

God blesses us.
